Part-Time Personal Support Worker – Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to support a 12-year-old boy with complex cerebral palsy in Weston-super-Mare. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role.

Pay and Working Hours

  • £16.50 per hour

  • Term-time hours: 9 hours per week (Monday and Saturday)

  • School holiday hours: 18 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday)

About the Role
This rewarding opportunity involves supporting a bright and determined young boy who enjoys being outdoors and has a love of dogs and horses. You will be working in his family home and accompanying him in the local community. You will be part of a supportive care team focused on his health, wellbeing, and personal development.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support him with daily routines, personal care, and therapeutic activities

  • Encourage participation in fun and engaging activities in the home and community

  • Implement behavioural strategies under professional guidance

  • Follow a structured care and therapy plan developed by specialists

  • Maintain accurate care records and communicate clearly with professionals and family members

  • Drive to and from appointments and leisure activities safely

About the Employer
You will be employed directly by a reputable Case Management company, who work in partnership with Positive Outcome Recruitment. You will be based in the young person’s home and local area, with the support of a multidisciplinary team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a care or support role within health or social care

  • Confident verbal and written communication skills, with good IT ability

  • Positive attitude, sense of humour and a genuine interest in working with children

  • Enjoys the outdoors and has a flexible, proactive approach

  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check including the Children’s and Adult Barred Lists (cost covered by employer)
