Location:
This rewarding opportunity is based in the Barnard Castle area of County Durham. The role is easily commutable from surrounding towns and villages within approximately 30 minutes, including Darlington, Bishop Auckland, West Auckland, Gainford, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Staindrop, Richmond, Evenwood, Spennymoor, Shildon, and Newton Aycliffe.

This provider offers safe, supportive, and therapeutic residential care for children and young people who have experienced social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Their homes are nurturing and structured environments where young people are supported to achieve positive outcomes and move forward in life.
Duties:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting children and young people in their daily routines, including education, leisure, and social activities.

Building trusting relationships with young people and acting as a consistent role model.

Promoting positive behaviour and helping manage challenging situations.

Supporting children with life skills, independence, and emotional well-being.

Ensuring the home environment remains safe, clean, and supportive.

Keeping accurate records including care plans, reports, and incident documentation.

Working as part of a team and contributing to care planning and team meetings.

Participating in ongoing training and development.
Criteria
No prior experience in residential childcare is necessary - full training is provided. However, we are looking for individuals with a distinct personality and the right values to work in this emotionally rewarding yet challenging sector. You must be:
